About
Sea Star Beachwear was born from a need for functional yet fashionable water shoes. While on vacation, Libby Fitzgerald’s children pointed out her flimsy and unattractive water shoes, and upon searching for better, more fashionable ones, the results came up empty. This inspired Fitzgerald to create her collection of timeless water shoes.
Sea Star Beachwear shoes are comfortable, versatile, breathable, and quick-drying, making them an ideal choice for travelers or even everyday use while running errands in the rain. Sea Star Beachwear has expanded its line to offer coordinating water-friendly accessories and bags.
Challenge
Sea Star Beachwear was on the hunt for a solution that would allow it to grow its dropship sales with large retailers. As a small team, it would have been challenging for Sea Star to expand its dropship operations without expanding its resources. Sea Star was searching for a solution that would enable them to allocate inventory across different channels while automating product syncing to simplify this expansion.
Solution
Finding it difficult to scale with their existing operations, In 2020 Sea Star began working with Cymbio to automate its marketplace e-commerce operations, allowing the brand to achieve the growth it was looking for without needing to significantly increase its budget, resources, or time.
Cymbio empowered Sea Star Beachwear to expand its dropship business by integrating its existing e-commerce software, ApparelMagic, and WMS with popular retailer websites and automating the inventory updating process.
Results
In 2020, Cymbio helped Sea Star Beachwear launch on two retailer marketplaces: Maisonette and Nordstrom. The brand now sells on additional dropship platforms: Hudson’s Bay, Neiman Marcus, Saks, QVC, and more.
Using Cymbio’s automation platform to streamline dropship operations, Sea Star Beachwear accomplished:
- 2458 total dropship sales in 2022 alone
- In 2022, the brand’s gross merchandise volume (GMV) in dropship retailers that were connected through Cymbio, was over $200,000
- The brand sold 2898 products through dropship retailers in 2022, which constituted a 10.4% increase from 2021’s dropship sales
- Automated operations
